BYU-HAWAII/CCH ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MISSION

“The mission of the Alumni Association is to build loyalty, and service, and to provide connections between graduates and the university, to raise needed funds and to provide essential support with aloha among alumni and friends of BYU-Hawaii/CCH."

Message from Alumni Association President Arapata Meha, Nov. 6, 2007:

"I ... call  on all alumni from the past fifty years to step forward and continue as you have done in the past, making it possible for future generations of students to experience the education that is BYU-Hawaii. 'We drink from wells we did not dig. We have been warmed by fires we did not build.' Let the alumni, now, replenish the water of the wells dug by our pioneers and rekindle the fires built by those who came before us."

UTAH CHAPTERS 2008 GOALS & CALENDAR

Utah-Central Chapter 2008 Goals:

Our #1 goal for 2008 is to create a shared vision of our role as alumni in fulfilling the prophetic destiny and mission of BYU-Hawaii/CCH. We will do this by
a. Hosting a Luau with Lester W.B. Moore as keynote speaker on Sat. November 22, 2008. It was a great event with an attendance of 350.
b. Creating and disseminating quarterly chapter newsletters, with an editorial on this subject in each issue, as well as providing updates of developments at BYU-Hawaii and Alumni, as pertaining to the influence of good towards the establishment of peace, internationally.
c. We will invite the Aloha Spirit to our events and activities through special messages as well as music, songs, and dances of the islands.

Our #2 goal for 2008 is to create a social and business network among the Alumni in central Utah, which will benefit individuals in their job search, career development, and business expansion. We will do this by
a. Setting up a networking booth at each Alumni event where alumni can submit and/or display their business cards and business information.
b. Creating an alumni business directory and info website.
c. Having a business section with a business highlight in each quarterly newsletter.
